I had a go at the Amy Butler Barcelona Skirt pattern, which I bought at the terrific Wai Ariki Farm Park patchwork shop at Hanmer Springs. I loved the skirts that people showed on flickr etc, but I´m not too sure I like mine as much as I thought I would. It flares out a lot from the top of the hips (I´m not standing straight in the photo anyway), whereas I prefer a-line skirts to be slightly straighter. The pattern was easy to follow though.

I love it! It looks so fun and summery!
Thank you! Its really good for beach visits to the Kapiti Coast...
Cute skirt! I have the same fabric lying around waiting to make into something and was pondering a littel summer a-line. Only problem, if you visit the Kapiti Coast we might bump into each other in matching skirts lol...
Thank you! Yes, my husband or son might run up to you in a crowd thinking you´re me! lol. I had a look at your wonderful blogs. Do you like the Sew Liberated book? I´m wondering whether to order it, or ask the library to get a copy. The glimpses of it on Amazon look good.
I do like the Sew Liberated book. Have made several things and they are good base patterns (the skirt and the blouse - can see me making many of the blouses for myself and DD). Some of the ideas are ordinary, but overall i'm happy with it and it provides plenty of inspiration. Definitely a must for your local library.
Cool. I´ll ask our library to get it. I just noticed from your profile that you like the Buddhism for Mothers book. Me too! Great book. Did you know she wrote one for mums of school age kids too? I haven´t read it yet though.
